Sanjay’s Super Team looks to be more than just another cute Disney-Pixar short

Disney-Pixar today gave us a sneak peek at the upcoming short film that will play in front of "The Good Dinosaur."

The teaser introduces us to Sanjay, a cartoon-loving boy, and his religious Hindu father. Sanjay is wrapped up in his morning cartoons, but when his father rings the bell to signify the start of morning prayers, Sanjay is less than eager to pull himself away from the television.

Although just a teaser, Sanjay's Super Team looks to be more than just another cute short from the studio. Sure, past Pixar shorts have addressed serious topics like love, loss, and friendship; but, from the looks of it, Sanjay's Super Team will tackle the daunting subject yet — religion, specifically addressing the intergenerational differences in acculturation. It's a bold move for Pixar to take on a topic as fickle as religion, but I have no doubt in the studio's ability to deliver yet another enlightening short.
