Due to either unfathomable self-delusion or sheer determination, Sega is not giving up on Sonic the Hedgehog. They’re giving the Blue Blur a live-action movie, have kept his comic series running, and have even asked fans for feedback on making better games. To top things off, the studio today announced a Sonic-themed presentation at entertainment festival South by Southwest (SXSW).
As GameSpot reports, Sega will hold a panel dedicated to Sonic’s 25th anniversary at 3:30 p.m. (Central U.S.) on Saturday, March 19. Described as “a look at the history of the world’s fastest mascot,” the panel will be led by the creators of several Sonic games.
“Join us as we celebrate the past and look to the future with breaking news and an inside glimpse at what fans can expect in this milestone year,” Sega said.
South by Southwest will run from March 11 to March 20 and incorporate the music, film and gaming industries. Ticket and hotel details are available at the event's official site.
