Don't you wish that you could just send a prepackaged trade to one of your friends on Steam showing the items you want and what you're offering? Well, now you can! And the mini-baseball general manager inside of me is going to love it. I might send trade offers to my friends just to see who I can rip off!
Valve announced that they're shipping a new feature on Steam today called Trade Offers. It does exactly what I said: let's you send a prepackaged trade to a friend. You propose the items for both sides, instead of having to enter a trade window together. Simply select the items you want to send, and then the items you want to receive from them, and click send. Your friend will get a notification and will be prompted to accept, decline, or make a counter offer. The best part is that you both won't have to be online at the same time.
You can send and receive trade offers from a web browser, and there's three places you can offer a trade from: the Trade Offers page in your inventory, from a friend's inventory, and from one of your badge pages based on the cards you still need to collect.
While you're only able to send trade offers to friends right now, they may expand this in the future. And if you or a friend have your inventory set to private, you won't be able to send or receive trade offers.
Happy Trading, everyone!
