Seth Rogen, Rose Byrne, Zac Efron ready to be neighbors again in Neighbors 2

Gets a May 2016 release date

Universal Pictures announced today that Neighbors 2 has a release date of May 13, 2016. The sequel to last year's R-rated comedy that went on to be the year's top-grossing original comedy (grossing $268M+ worldwide on an $18M budget), will see the return of Seth Rogen, Zac Efron, and Rose Byrne.

Nicholas Stoller is returning to direct the film. Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg (The Interview) are producing with James Weaver, and Andrew Jay Cohen and Brendan O'Brien (who wrote the first Neighbors) will executive produce. Rogen, Stoller and Goldberg will also be writing bits here and there for the sequel.

I'm excited about the potential of Neighbors 2, but comedy sequels usually don't pan out. Where does the story go from the first one? Rogen and Byrne are getting more bad neighbors? A rival fraternity (Pikes… it's always Pikes) so Efron helps Rogen? Maybe a b*tchy sorority? I'm being cautiously optimistic for this one and wait to see a trailer before I judge it.
