Quantic Dream's Beyond: Two Souls released today for PlayStation 3 to mixed reviews. As you'd expect, the polarizing developer's latest title, starring actors Ellen Page and Willem Dafoe, had scores on all ends of the spectrum. Although it seems most reviewers either loved or hated it, GameZone actually fell somewhere in between, scoring it a 7.5/10.
Of course, the only real opinion that matters is that of Shuhei Yoshida, Sony Computer Entertainment President of Worldwide Studios. And he expressed confidence in David Cage and the team over at Quantic. Following today's launch of Beyond: Two Souls — about an hour before the embargo lifted — Yoshida posted the following message on Twitter.
…so I visited David at QD's office in Paris, shared my honest feedback with Beyond, reassured how much I'm excited with his next project.

It's great that in the face of controversy Sony is standing by its developers. I don't know how Beyond: Two Souls will fare in light of the mixed press reviews, but it seems Cage has a loyal group of followers that are passionate about his work. Hopefully, Quantic learns from their mistakes with Beyond and makes their next title even better.
