Fans who missed out on the Gold Mario amiibo can settle for the second place Silver Edition, which was announced by Nintendo today.
The new Mario – Silver Edition amiibo figure will be available at "major retailers nationwide" starting on May 29. It'll be priced at $12.99 until they are sold out and you are forced to buy them on eBay for triple that price.
The Silver Mario amiibo will offer the same functionality and work with all the games that are already compatible with other Mario amiibo figures that have already launched. This includes Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, Mario Party 10, Mario Kart 10, and Hyrule Warriors.
