When the SNES Classic first released it was verified that the retro game emulator was using the exact same hardware as the NES Classic. The SNES Classic uses recycled hardware from the NES Classic, which gave hackers hope that they could get break into the SNES Classic and get it to play more games in no time.
All hackers had to do to get into the SNES Classic was update the tool they used to hack the NES Classic, HackChi, and connect the SNES Classic to a PC. From there, it wasn't hard to add over 200 games to the retro console – even with its box art.
In addition to hacking more games on the SNES Classic, HackChi allows users to create a controller shortcut that brings up the system's menu.
