Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 could be the CryEngine 3 game for Wii U

City Interactive's Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 could be headed to the Wii U, according to the game's ESRB rating.

As of right now the only confirmed platforms by City Interactive are Xbox 360, PS3, and PC, but a user on NeoGAF spotted the ESRP as listing Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 for the PlayStation Vita and Nintendo's upcoming Wii U console.

Many were skeptical about the Wii U once they learned that Crytek, the creator of CryEngine 3, wouldn't be making games for the new console. Crytek's CEO Cevat Yerli looked to put an early end to the speculation, hinting that a game that uses the CryEngine 3 is actually in development for the Wii U. Unfortunately, neither he nor Nintendo have revealed the game.

It now appears that Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2, which is powered by CryEngine 3, is that game — that is, if the ESRB is correct in its listing. While some may be disappointed that the CryEngine 3 game isn't Crysis 3, producer Mike Read hasn't yet ruled it out for the future.
