Remember that robot from SXSW named Sophia? Well, apparently Sophia has a new (and equally as terrifying) robot-friend. The robots have never met, but they will likely come together to lead the robot revolution against the humans that created them for whatever reason they created them.
After two years and $50,000 later, 42-year old Hong Hong resident Ricky Ma has succeeded in making himself his very own robot named Mark1.
Ma, meticulously modeled Mark1 after actress Scarlett Johansson, using 70% 3D printed 'skeleton' and layers upon layers of silicon to act as skin. Ma has no formal training in robot creation, he is just a fan of robots… and Scarlett Johansson.
“When I was a child, I liked robots,” said Ma to The Mirror. “I figured I should just do it when the timing is right and realize my dream. If I realize my dream, I will have no regrets in life.”
At least our robot revolution will look… decent?
