Sonic Mania, a new 16-bit title, coming Spring 2017

Sonic Mania is what fans have been wanting for over a decade now: A proper 2D Sonic, with classic physics, beautiful 16-bit graphics, and a soundtrack that feels right at home in a 16-bit Sonic. It's what Sonic the Hedgehog 4 should have been, and it's glorious!

Re imagined classics, new levels, three characters, and a new move added to the arsenal: The Drop Dash. It's essentially a spin dash that happens instantly out of a jump. It allows for the momentum boost of a Spin Dash without requiring a complete stop, and allows Sonic to instantaneously change the direction of his momentum upon contact with the ground. It's a genius addition that should serve to make 2D Sonic games even faster.
