Yesterday, Sony's President for Sony Computer Entertainment Inc Worldwide Studios, Shuhei Yoshida, made it very clear that that the PlayStation 4 would not be getting backwards compatibility. Unfortunately, Yoshida has continued on his dream crushing path.
One of the biggest features that both PS4 and PS3 owners have been asking for is the ability to change their PSN ID. According to Yoshida, Sony doesn't even know if its possible.
"When? I wish I knew! We are aware lots of people are asking for the feature, and our engineers have been looking into what they can do," said Yoshida in a video on Twitter.
"As soon as we know, you know, we will let you know, but as of today, we don't even know if we can ever do it. Hopefully, we will be able to provide that feature in the future."
You have to hand it to Yoshida, he's responding honestly to some of the community's big questions. He concisely said 'no' about backwards compatibility and said he didn't know if PSN ID's could be changed. There's hope for the feature though, so… One day.
