According to Sony's latest estimates, the PlayStation 4 has sold over 70 million units, 70.6 million to be exact. Clearly, Black Friday helped push them over the hurdle, due to record sales.
While sales of the PS4 and PS4 Pro were not divided up, Sony says the estimated data is up-to-date as of December 1. On top of the good console news, Sony also took a moment to announced that PSVR, which just kicked off a new trial promotion (yours truly is partaking in), has sold over 2 million units as well.
Sony's having a stellar year with great exclusives coupled with cheap hardware. Next year, when the Xbox One X starts getting some heavy support and dedicated games (made for that hardware) it'll be interesting to see if Sony continues to dominate or if Microsoft finally catches up.
