Sony ignored PS Vita to keep E3 presentation short

Remember all of the talks prior to E3 that predicted Sony would place a heavy emphasis on the PlayStation Vita? Outside of a few notable announcements, that didn't happen. Sony largely ignored their new handheld at E3 disappointing many of the system's early adopters.

There was a reason, however. According to Sony's Worldwide Studios boss Shuhei Yoshida, the company didn't detail many of the Vita's upcoming titles because they sought to keep the press conference shorter.

“We had 25 PS Vita games playable on the show floor, some of which are really great titles I’m very excited about,” Sony’s Worldwide Studios boss Shuhei Yoshida told MCV.

“We could have spent more time talking about those, but we had a very clear intention this year to make the total press conference shorter, because we’re notorious for holding lengthy ones," he added.

“I hope we accomplished that with this year’s conference – which I think lasted about 80 minutes – but from the perspective of people who are waiting for more information on Vita titles, we weren’t able to provide that," he admitted.

To be fair, Sony did announce Assassin's Creed: Liberation and a new Call of Duty title for the Vita, but it surely wasn't enough to appease the masses. With that being said, I still feel Sony had the best E3 presentation – based solely on their PS3 exclusives.
