Sony investigating broken PS4 issues, believes they are ‘isolated incidents’

The PlayStation 4 doesn't release until Friday, November 15 (midnight release in most locations), but new reports from various outlets and gamers who received their console early claim the next-gen system is breaking on them.

IGN, Kotaku, a Redditor who received his PS4 early as part of the Taco Bell promotion, and a few others have claimed to have experienced defective units. Obviously, this is worrying those who have their PS4 on pre-order, ready to pick up tonight.

Without knowing how many consoles have been shipped, it's hard to gauge as to whether or not this is a widespread problem. apparently, Sony's Shuhei Yoshida doesn't seem too concerned at the moment. Over on Twitter, Yoshida responded to the issue, assuring gamers that Sony is "investigating reported PS4 issues."

"The number is very small compared to shipped," he claimed, "we believe they are isolated incidents."

Hopefully that's the case. Imagine the uproar if this becomes a bigger problem on launch day.
