Sony won't take the stage at Paris Games Week until this afternoon, but it looks like one of their big announcements — a brand new PlayStation eSports platform — has leaked early.
It's called PlayStation Plus League, and according to the French site, it looks like you'll be able to play in tournaments for the chance to win real cash. Diving deeper into the site, there will be seasons, divisions, and rankings. It looks like tournaments will focus on some of the more popular competitive PlayStation games, such as Street Fighter IV Ultra, Battlefield Hardline, and FIFA 16.
The first tournament looks to take place this week to celebrate Paris Games Week.
Nothing has officially been announced as of yet, but we should find out more details in a few hours when Paris Games Week kicks off. As Sony previously mentioned, not all of the announcements coming out of the press conference will apply to PlayStation owners worldwide, so we'll have to see if PlayStation Plus League is exclusive to Europe. I can't imagine they won't offer something similar here in the United States, though.
