Sony officially announces PS4 price drop, effective this Friday

PlayStation 4 gets $50 price drop

As expected, Sony will be dropping the price of the PlayStation 4. Effective this Friday, October 9th, the new price of the base PlayStation 4 will drop $50 to a cool $349.99.

"Our goal at PlayStation has always been to provide the best gameplay experiences at the best value, and we feel this new compelling price will open the doors to even more gamers that have yet to purchase a system," said SCEA VP of Platforms Marketing John Koller.

The price drop won't only apply to the standalone PlayStation 4, but to previously announced bundles as well, including the Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection bundle and the multiple Star Wars PS4 bundles. The Limited Edition Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 1TB PS4 Bundle only received a $30 price drop, and will be available for $429.99. Here's a quick breakdown.
