Sony sells 70M PS3s worldwide — and fewer PlayStation Moves

As of November 4, Sony has sold 70 million PlayStation 3s worldwide.

The console launched on November 17, 2006, in North America and November 11 that same year in Japan.

Sony also revealed that as of November 11, it has sold 15 million PlayStation Move controllers worldwide. The peripheral released in the U.S. in September 2010 — hypothetically, that's nearly 8 million every year compared to roughly 11 million PS3s every year.

I'm still amazed that PlayStation Move controllers (and the corresponding PlayStation Eye) are as expensive as they are.
