Sony’s next wave of mobile devices will further the company’s push to bring PS4 outside the living room, it seems.
The company’s Xperia Z3 mobile line—the series’ smartphone, compact and tablet—will support PS4 Remote Play, a feature allowing PS4 owners to effectively stream their PS4’s games on a separate device.
Despite the growing prevalence of PlayStation Now, Remote Play has been confined to PlayStation Vita until Z3. As MCV reports, Z3 Remote Play requires both the client device and PS4 itself be connected to the same wi-fi network—a limitation not found on Vita. In addition, a DualShock 4 controller and GCM10 Game Controller adapter will be required, as the Z3’s touch screens do not support PS4 games.
