Earlier this month, industry-tech blogger Paul Thurott announced that his sources confirmed that May 21 will be the date when Microsoft reveals its next-gen Xbox. Now, Game Informer has a source — who will remain anonymous — that says Microsoft is about to send out invitations to an unveiling event for the next Xbox. The event will take place on May 21 in Redmond, Washington.
Invitations to press and publishing partners will go out soon, and the presentation is expected to be intimate. People will be able to watch the presentation through a live stream on Xbox.com, Xbox LIVE, and Spike TV in the United States and Canada.
The source didn't say what would be revealed at that date — be it specs, the console itself, a release date, or a price point. It's reasonable to assume that Microsoft will try to outdo the PlayStation 4's reveal, which didn't have a console to show.
Again, this is another rumor in a long line of rumors, but it's the second source to say this. We'll update you as more information comes forth.
