Spelunky gets better on your PC this August

Mossmouth has stamped a date on the new PC version of Spelunky we learned about last month, which is based on the enhanced Xbox 360 version of the roguelike platformer, which emerged because the PC title was such a hit.

Catch all that?

So the new Spelunky is coming to GOG.com and Steam on August 8. You can still download the original Windows version (from 2009) for free, but if you want the fancy remastered edition that's loaded with improved graphics and lots of extras (including multiplayer), you'll be able to buy it soon enough.

Spelunky is also due out on the PlayStation 3 and Vita this summer. Neither Sony nor developer Mossmouth has announced a release date yet.
