Spider-Man: Homecoming has officially finished shooting

Filming for Spider-Man: Homecoming began just a few months ago in Atlanta, Georgia and just last month they moved filming to New York to film a few more scenes. Dozens of images from the set of the film (both in Atlanta and New York) have surfaced across the internet sparking lots of speculation surrounding the characters, plots, and more.

Last night, director Jon Watts confirmed that the film has officially wrapped shooting via an Instagram post. The crew will now go into the editing room and piece together the movie and add the special effects, and hopefully, prepare a trailer for us to view within the next few months.

Spider-Man: Homecoming will be the first solo Spider-Man movie in three years when it releases and will be Tom Holland's second outing as the wall-crawler after his debut in Captain America: Civil War. The film's plot is somewhat of a mystery right now but we do know that Robert Downey Jr. will reprise his role as Tony Stark, acting as a mentor for Peter Parker. The main villain is set to be Vulture being played by Michael Keaton, but the film will also feature The Tinkerer and Shocker.

Spider-Man: Homecoming swings into theaters July 7th, 2017.
