Spider-Man: Homecoming May Feature Pepper Potts’ Return to MCU

Pepper Potts, the love interest of Tony Stark in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, has been mysteriously absent from the films for a few years. But if rumors prove to be true, She may show up again in an unlikely movie: Spider-Man: Homecoming.

Lainey Gossip states that even though Gweneth Paltrow's contract with Marvel has expired, the studios involved were able to secure her for the new Spider-Man film. This would mark the return of Pepper for the first time since 2013 when she starred in Ironman 3. In-canon, Tony Stark mentions in Civil War that he and Pepper broke up.

It's strange if she appears in Homecoming, as she's been absent from two Marvel team-up movies, but Paltrow's portrayal of Pepper would likely be well received by fans nonetheless.

Spider-Man: Homecoming comes to theaters July 7, 2017.
