Spotify has officially launched on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and Xperia mobile devices across 41 markets, replacing Music Unlimited. The announcement of the switch officially came in January and promised Music Unlimited subscribers that their final month would be free.
This partnership brings over 30 million songs to the PS4 and PS3, but unfortunately, only PS4 players will be able to stream music while playing games.
The Spotify App on consoles will work similarly as it does on computers; you can pay for Spotify Premium for $9.99 a month or stream for free with advertisements playing.
If you were subscribed to Music Unlimited with an account that was active as of March 29, 2015 you get 2 months of free access to Spotify Premium. That means you get two months of ad-free listening (oh no, did I just quote a Spotify ad for premium)? If you aren't a member of Spotify Premium already you get to test out a free month of Premium.
We've already started streaming Spotify while playing Bloodborne. #Guilty.
