Sony Computer Entertainment Japan/Asia President Atsushi Morita threw the gauntlet in a recent video, challenging Square Enix CEO Yosuke Matsuda to a bout of Call of Duty: Black Ops 3. Well, at least his look-a-like did.
Evidently, the two have been planning the duel since November 28, 2015, the date given for the amusingly cheesy reenactment. The two will face off in Black Ops 3 come Friday, February 26 at 9 p.m. Japan time (7 a.m. Eastern U.S.).
The rivalry is likely the result of Sony’s new role as Call of Duty’s de facto publisher. You would think Microsoft, the series’ previous and longtime backer, would be the one out for blood, but then Square Enix did handle Call of Duty publishing in Japan for several years. It seems the pair has decided that a fight on familiar territory is the only way to settle things.
So, who wants to face Hidetaka Miyazaki in Dark Souls 3?
Thanks, DualShockers.
