DICE will host a Beta test for Star Wars Battlefront this October, the studio announced.
A Walker Assault test on Hoth, featuring 40-man multiplayer and vehicular combat, will be the Beta’s headlining act. Walker Assault will also let you play as Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker.
A Survival Mission on Tatooine will also be included, letting you and a friend play cooperatively to fend off Imperial forces. A newly revealed game mode dubbed Drop Zone will be playable in the Beta as well, filling in for the absent Blast and Supremacy modes. DICE will detail Drop Zone in the coming weeks.
Battlefront's newly revealed mobile companion app, which includes the card game Base Command, will also be accessible during the Beta.
The Beta will be available on PS4, Xbox One and PC (via Origin). However, DICE has not confirmed whether the Beta will be public and open to all signees, or closed and curated via some sort of lottery. We can expect news on a sign-up process soon.
