Star Wars Battlefront will be playable first on Xbox One

This probably comes as no surprise to anyone familiar with the EA Access timed exclusivity partnership between Microsoft and Electronic Arts, but Star Wars Battlefront will first be playable on Xbox One.

The revelation was confirmed today by Head of Xbox Phil Spencer on Twitter.

EA Access, of course, is a paid service available only on Xbox One that allows members access to a catalog of older games, as well as discounts on upcoming games and early access on new games. Usually it's just a few days head start, so there's nothing for nonmembers to get too upset about. However, if you are interested in the service, it costs $4.99 per month, or $29.99 for the entire year.

And for those of you PlayStation 4 owners wondering why you don't get this same opportunity, you did — and Sony rejected it.
