Star Wars: The Force Awakens was one of the most succesful films of 2015 critically and financially. With the Blu-Ray release only two weeks away, pirates have already gotten their hands on the acclaimed sci-fi film.
Torrent distrbuter, TorrentFreak, mentioned how tons of pirating sites now have high-quality copies of the film thanks to user who acquired an early retail copy of the seventh Star Wars film. The torrent for the film was downloaded over 250,000 times in the first 12 hours of its availability.
Disney and Lucasfilm are trying to fight the pirates off by getting Google to issue takedowns. At this point, the damage has been done though, and many users will be able to reupload the torrent wherever they want at any time.
It's unclear if the special features that the Blu-Ray boasts are included in these torrents or if you'll have to go buy the film in order to see them. Some of the special features on the film include deleted scenes where villain Kylo Ren boards the iconic Millenium Falcon, feature length behind the scenes documentaries and more.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens releases on April 1st for digital download and April 5th on Blu-Ray and DVD. Retailers are promoting different bundles with extra special features and physical goodies as well.
