Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ three leads share more details about their characters

How Rey, Finn, and Poe fit into the Star Wars universe

John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, and Oscar Isaac have joined the stage at Star Wars Celebration, and shared some new details about their respective characters. While they couldn't go into too much detail, each actor gave a brief description of their character and how they fit into the Star Wars universe.

Ridley, who plays Rey, explained we discover her character on the desert planet of Jakku. Yes, the planet from the first trailer was not Tatooine as many had speculated.

"She's a scavenger in a ship graveyard and she's completely self-sufficient and solitary until she meets another character and the adventure begins," she teased.

John Boyega said of his character, Finn: "When we find Finn, he's in incredible danger. The way in which he reacts to this danger changes his life and launches him into the Star Wars universe in a very unique way." When asked if his character was indeed a Stormtrooper, as the initial trailer suggested, he nodded yes. Unfortunately, he could not reveal if he was a good guy or a bad guy, but we did find out that he'll end up working with Oscar Isaac's character, Poe Dameron.

"He's the best freaking pilot in the galaxy," actor Oscar Isaac said of his character, Poe. "He's been sent on a mission by a certain princess and he ends up coming across Mr. John Boyega's character and their fates are forever intertwined."
