Star Wars: The Old Republic free-to-play option launch date announced

EA and BioWare have announced the global launch date of the Star Wars: The Old Republic free-to-play option. On November 15, 2012, Star Wars fans across the galaxy will be able to experience The Old Republic's epic class storylines through level 50 at no cost.

Coinciding with the free-to-play option will be the introduction of the new Cartel Market, an in-game store that lets you purchase items ranging from cosmetics to legacy unlocks. Those who are already paying subscribers to SWTOR come launch day will be granted all of the Complimentary Cartel Coins currently listed on the Cartel Coin Ledger page, plus a one-time grant of 250 Complimentary Cartel Coins.

In October, BioWare and EA detailed some of the restrictions placed on the free-to-play version, but later made a few changes based on "community and internal feedback." Some features that are now available for free-to-play members include a second quickslot bar and increased limits on Warzones. Free-to-play players will also have limits on Cargo Bay and Inventory storage and the option to run Operations if you purchase a Weekly Pass.
