Blizzard has announced that invites to the eagerly awaited closed beta for StarCraft 2: Legacy of the Void will begin rolling out this month, on March 31st to be exact.
Included in the initial phase of the closed beta are the "ongoing updates to previously-announced multiplayer units," as well as the debut of the new Protoss unit, The Adept, three new maps, and the new Archon cooperative/competitive multiplayer mode.
The Adept is described as a "core getaway unit." With ground-only ranged attack capabilities and "normal" movement speed, The Adept is aided by an ability to send out a mirror image of itself which, after a fixed duration, teleports The Adept to the location of its duplicate. The duplicate can independently move around, but can not attack or be attacked and does not impede upon the action of the main unit.
As for the new maps, here are the descriptions:
Lastly, Archon mode is a cooperative/competitive multiplayer mode where two players share and control one base/army against another opponent or team.
