Steam belly sliding to Linux

Steam is a great service with tons of content both mainstream and indie for gamers to enjoy. Then there are those great sales, too. Unfortunately, Linux users have been deprived of gaming through Steam for a very long time. Thankfully for those folks, that's about to change.

Phoronix founder and Linux blogger Michael Larabel visited Valve and returned saying, "It has taken longer than most anyone would have anticipated, but the fact remains that Valve is in fact creating a native Linux port of their Steam game distribution client and of the Source Engine to run natively on Linux."

So yeah, Steam on Linux is totally happening now. While I'm a Windows user myself, I'm glad to see that more gamers will get the chance to take advantage of Steam and all of the awesomeness it has to offer. Outstanding indie games, launch week specials, and insane discounts are all things people should have access to, and now, a larger group of video game players will get exactly that.

At first I was always just playing SC on the PC, absolutely epic game. Then my boy friend introduced me to League and I have been hooked since. I love the game so much because you actually have to work together strategically with your team to win and that bring’s another dimension to an online game. Most games are single player oriented which is awesome, but the team aspect really makes LoL stand out.
