Deadpool 2 has gone through some ups and downs, but it seems to be finally on the right track. After losing its first writer, the film production seems underway and casting for Cable, the film's antagonist is underway. The only thing is, we have no idea who will play the role.
A new report from The Wrap has revealed that Stranger Things actor David Harbour, who plays Sheriff Hopper in the show, has already met with Ryan Reynolds and read for the role. It's the first actor we've actually tested for the role, as previously Pierce Brosnan was just rumored after being spotted in a photograph with Reynolds and Hugh Jackman.
Cable's real name is Nathan Summers, and he is the son of Cyclops and Jean Grey. He is able to time travel as his main power and is more like a frenemy to Deadpool in the comics. The two tend to work together more than fight, but it's usually more out of common interests than actual friendship. Other than Cable, so far we know Domino and Copycat are in the film, but no storyline has been revealed yet.
Reynolds and company were pretty secretive with the first one, so we'll probably need to wait a while to hear anything substantial on Deadpool 2. What do you think of Harbour playing Cable? Let us know below.
Deadpool is supposed to release in 2018 with no exact release date yet
