Street Fighter 5 is never coming to Xbox One, Capcom rep confirms

At least it'll be available on PC

Regardless of any rumors or speculation you hear, Street Fighter 5 will be a PlayStation 4 console exclusive forever. Though it'll also be available on PC, an Xbox One version will never be released.

Though Sony's Adam Boyes confirmed back in December 2014 that PS4 would be the only console that Street Fighter 5 would appear on, there's continued talk of the game coming to Xbox One. Confirming once and for all, a Capcom representative told GameSpot that Street Fighter 5 will never ship on Xbox One.

"One comment we see a lot is that something like a Super Street Fighter 5 is going to come out on Xbox," the representative said. "But the reality is that this is a real partnership. We are console exclusive for this franchise for this numbered run."

The rep also explained that the exclusive partnership allows Capcom the ability to try new things with post-launch content that they hadn't been able to do in the past. "The relationship serves a gameplay and development purpose, and not just a marketing value."

With Sony hosting its E3 press conference on Monday, June 15th, expect to hear more about Street Fighter 5 soon.
