This year at Gamescom, a number of games were shown off. Age of Empires 4 was announced, as well as FIFA 18 being shown on the Nintendo Switch. Shenmue 3 even got its first trailer. But what won best of show was Super Mario Odyssey.

On top of Best of Gamescom, it also won four other awards: "Most Wanted" Consumer Award, the Best Nintendo Switch Console Game, Best Action Game, and Best Family Game.

Super Mario Odyssey launches in October for Nintendo Switch. The console will very likely be a hot item this holiday season, which is why Nintendo has released a statement promising the "ramp up" production of the Nintendo Switch.
