Super Smash Bros. game director Masahiro Sakurai has spent these past few weeks revealing new stages specific to the 3DS version of the game. So far we've seen a Paper Mario stage and a Tomodachi Life stage; but, neither have come close to the latest: a stage designed to look like an old school Game Boy.
As with all reveals, Sakurai posted a picture of the new stage to Miiverse, noting that, "If you turn on the 3D effect, it really looks like there's a Game Boy inside the screen."
What does that even mean!? I could see this stage working in one of two ways: 1) similar to Flat Zone from Super Smash Bros. Melee in which you have to battle as backgrounds change to various Game & Watch games. In this case, perhaps the background will change to variousĀ Game Boy games; 2) perhaps the stage is an actual Game Boy and you can jump on top of the "Nintendo" logo while being constricted by the walls of the screen.
I don't know, but I'm intrigued.
