A new screenshot for the 3DS version of Super Smash Bros. has been posted to Miiverse by Masahiro Sakurai, hinting at some sort of single player mode for the upcoming game; however, the game creator was very clear to point out that it was not for a mode like The Subspace Emissary, a side-scrolling beat-em-up mode seen in Super Smash Bros. Brawl.
"Pic of the day. Where am I……??" The game creator teased. "To be clear, the new Super Smash Bros. games do not feature a story mode like The Subspace Emissary."
As you can see by the image, it shows Mario in sort sort of unfamiliar green environment with futuristic-looking platforms. There are no other "enemies" on stage, suggesting this could be for a singleplayer mode. Or maybe it's something special for the 3DS version? Let us know you think it could be in the comments below.
