Sometimes, the best announcements are spur of the moment. That's precisely the path that Microsoft has taken with the Phantom Dust HD re-release, which Xbox's Head of Games Marketing, Aaron Greenberg announced is coming tomorrow. And best of all, it's coming in at a price point that anyone can get behind.
Free.
Here's Greenberg's tweet with the announcement:
Phantom Dust will re-release on both Xbox One and Windows 10 and features a plethora of improvements, including 4K and widescreen support. After being announced at E3 2014, Phantom Dust's prospects seemed a bit bleak for a long time, which was even more compounded this year with the Xbox One's struggling First Party lineup.
However, Phil Spencer recently expressed a desire to see the game release before E3 2017, and it looks like the developers have delivered.
Phantom Dust originally released back in 2005 for the original Xbox and has long been considered something of a cult classic. If you didn't get a chance to check out the game all those years ago, do yourself a favor and check out the game tomorrow. There's literally nothing to lose.
