Star Wars: The Old Republic's Game Update 2.7, titled "Invasion," is available today, bringing with it two new level 55 Tactical Flashpoints, a new Huttball warzone, a new Galactic Starfighter Domination map, and Nightmare Mode for Dread Fortress.
The new story arc begins with Forged Alliances: Part I and introduces two major characters — Theron Shan and Lana Beniko. Though the three part story will continue to be expanded on throughout the year, Part I brings two new level 55 Tactical Flashpoints: Assault on Tython and Korriban Incursion.
Prepare to invade the enemy’s land and then defend the Jedi or Sith home worlds as you meet a host of new intriguing characters, including the adventurous Theron Shan, the son of Jedi Grandmaster Satele Shan, and a sophisticated Sith Lord named Lana Beniko whose passion lies in unraveling secrets behind the enemies of the Empire.
The new Huttball PvP Warzone on Quesh features a vertical layout, meaning you'll need to climb up structures using the new "grappling blasters" located throughout the ground to propel yourself to the level above. In Denon Exosphere, the new Battle Zone for Galactic Starfighter, you'll need to dodge enormous capital ships and fend off enemy attacks. Lastly, in the new Nightmare mode operation, The Dread Fortress, you'll face five bosses "now more dreadful than ever."
"We believe this game update captures some of the key elements that make Star Wars special: the struggle between galactic factions; engaging in dangerous and difficult trials that push you to the limits of your abilities; and being part of an epic storyline," said Senior Producer Bruce Maclean.
