Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reboot shut down ‘indefinitely’…Thank God!!

Paramount has shut down production on the Ninja Turtles film that was set to reboot the popular 80's/90's franchise.

The studio cited "script problems" as the major reason. My guess is Michael Bay's awful idea of taking our beloved heroes in a half shell into outerspace played some role in the studio's decision.

Back in March, producer Michael Bay shared his idea of an all-new origin story that included the turtles being from an alien race. As a result of Bay's outlandish "alien" idea debacle and fan backlash, the film went through a name change and is now dubbed Ninja Turtles.

Still, this obviously differed from the original mythology of the four baby turtles falling into the sewer and coming in contact with glowing radioactive ooze. That is how I remember the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles coming into existence and that is how I, along with many others, would like it to stay. We don't need your campy storylines and exaggerated explosions Bay.

Paramount didn't come out and say this was the reason they shut down Platinum Dunes production of the film, but I like to think it is. The release date has been shifted from December 2013 to May 2014, sources say, though the work stoppage is currently being labeled as "indefinite". So really, who knows when we'll get to see the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles return to the big screen.

Despite fan hesitance and outcry towards the movie, Bay has assured fans that Jonathan Liebesman, the film's director, is "Not going to let you down". Well, the best way to not let me down is the cancel this entire production. Leave my childhood memories alone.
