Terry Crews became a playable character in Crackdown 3 just because he asked to be

Terry Crews is no strangers to gaming. He has appeared at events and has made his case to play Overwatch's Doomfist. There weren't a ton of concrete details that came from the Crackdown 3 trailer that was revealed during Microsoft's E3 2017 presser, but some (including our own Cade Onder) surmised that Crews was a playable character. Just in case, design director Garett Wilson confirmed to IGN that yes, Terry Crews' character, Commander Jaxon will be playable in Crackdown 3.

Not only that, how it happened was somewhat unusual. According to Wilson, he says that the dev team got a call from marketing saying that Crews wanted to be in the game.

"We were like, 'that'd work. That'd absolutely work.' He's a real-life Agent."

So there you go. Sometimes (a lot of times) it actually pays to be famous.
