That ‘A Series of Unfortunate Events’ teaser is fake

Last year Netflix announced that they would be producing Lemony Snicket's 'A Series of Unfortunate Events' in association with Paramount Television. Since the announcement there has been no word on when the series would premiere, an official teaser has yet to appear either.

There has been at least one fan made teaser, one that has gained sudden popularity and was speculated to be official. An official representative of Netflix has popped the figurative hype bubble that has been building up with one statement: “This was not released from Netflix and not anything official."

The fan made trailer was uploaded yesterday and has garnered almost 900,000 views. 'A Series of Unfortunate Events' is a book series written by Daniel Handler that focuses on the tale of three orphaned kids and their journey trying to escape the clutches of their wicked uncle Count Olaf, while attempting to solve the mystery of their parents death.
