Designer Edmund McMillen answered some questions about the upcoming The Binding of Isaac remake on his blog today.
The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth, which is coming to Steam, PlayStation 4, and Vita (and possibly iPad), is a "fully remodeled and revamped and greatly improved version" of The Binding of Isaac, Team Meat's indie roguelike from 2011, and its expansion Wrath of the Lamb. It features a new art style and additional content that nearly doubles the original size of the game. Rebirth includes three new playable characters, more endings and chapters, and over 150 new items.
If you already own Isaac for PC, Mac, or Linux, Team Meat will be offering a "sizable loyalty discount" on the remake that "should make owning the original very worth it," wrote McMillen.
Rebirth will also feature local co-op play. It's expected to release "sometime this year." The developers are more than halfway complete.
