The Binding of Isaac will be reborn for consoles

So indie games superstar Edmund McMillen, creator of The Binding of Isaac, is putting together quite the elaborate effort to get out good friend Isaac on console in a brand new way.  While there is no set release date, McMillen has allowed Nicalis studio (known for VVVVVV) to produce this new project for the console world.

The new project is titled Binding of Isaac: Rebirth.  It will include new content from the Flash version and local two player co-op.  McMillen has also commented that the art style will be changing some as well.  While a port is already is the works for PlayStation 3, the Vita, and PC (Steam) – rumors of talks with Microsoft, Nintendo, and ever iOS are also in the air.

For those who were blown away with The Binding of Isaac last year, here is more to keep your excited pants on for a bit longer for Rebirth.  Enjoy that.
