The Division will launch with approximately 138 weapons, according to newly data mined information.
Redditor ChristianRiesen combed through the game’s final translation files in search of succulent pre-launch details, and stumbled across a list of some 125 weapons, a familiar mix of rifles and pistols and shotguns and so on.
Several weapon archetypes stand out from the crowd, including Black Market, Classic, Custom, Enhanced, First Wave, Military, Police and Tactical weapons. It’s not yet known what distinguishes these weapon types, or how the game’s oft-vaunted upgrade system will come into play.
ChristianRiesen also turned up a list of possible DLC weapons, including a G36 assault rifle, SPAS12 shotgun and FN 57 sidearm. Data mining efforts from Redditor itsgamerdoc, who uncovered the game’s 26 campaign missions, showed a total of 138 launch weapons, corroborating Christian’s claim.
Naturally, this information remains unofficial. With that said, two independent data miners came to remarkably similar conclusions regarding The Division’s arsenal, so it wouldn’t be unreasonable to assume the base game includes roughly 125 weapons, and that a dozen or so will be added via DLC.
