The Division’s PC version limited by console restraints

Is that anything new?

Update:

Ubisoft has issued a response to the allegations of intentionally gimping the PC version of The Division for parity across platforms, calling the rumors "not true."

Original:

Ubisoft's goal of keeping The Division's graphics on the same level across all platforms has apparently left PC at a loss. According to one anonymous Ubisoft developer, the PC version of The Division had the potential to be a "unfair" to the console version because of how good it was.

When asked on whether or not the game had its development restricted by consoles, this is how the developer replied:

"It is definitely a [factor]," said the anonymous Ubisoft developer to Team Epiphany (via PCGamesN). "But one good thing about The Division is that we've always considered PC as a separate platform. I've worked on projects before where the PC version's a port from a console, so it carries those limitations over, but we've always been in the mind that we'll have a dedicated PC build, so it hasn't really held it back too much."

"We do have to kind of keep it in check with consoles because it would kind of be unfair just to push it so far away from them."
