Less than 24 hours after unveiling the New Nintendo 2DS XL, the company has also unveiled the handheld's first special edition. Dropping on July 29th, and bundled with a copy of Dragon Quest XI, is the New Nintendo 2DS LL Metallic Slime Edition.
LL is used instead of XL as that is what the line of handhelds is known as in Japan, currently, the only region that will be getting this version of the New 2DS. And unlike the Switch, the 3DS/2DS line of consoles is region locked so if you do decide to import the Metallic Slime edition, it'll be unable to play any game that isn't also from Japan.
