The Last of Us DLC details coming this month

News about the first downloadable content for The Last of Us will be share with us something "this month," Naughty Dog said in a Reddit Ask Me Anything.

"News is on the way about the first DLC drop. Should hear about it this month," creative director Neil Druckmann said, presumably referring to some point in August.

Neither Druckmann nor game director Bruce Straley were willing to offer any specifics as to what the DLC may entail, but reiterated that there are plans for one single-player story DLC and two multiplayer DLC releases — information we knew from The Last of Us Season Pass announcement.

While the multiplayer content will likely center around new maps (maybe a new mode?), it's anyone's guess as to when/where the single player DLC will be set or which characters will be included. Druckmann did hint that some characters from the game will be returning. He did say it was "possible" that additional story content centering around Joel and Ellie will be released.

"We're playing with some ideas, but no direction has been set yet for the next game," he said. Don't take this as confirmation that a sequel to The Last of Us is being made. Naughty Dog has repeatedly stated that they are undecided on what game the Last of Us team will be working on next.
