The Last of Us multiplayer team returning for Uncharted 4

Naughty Dog vets return for highly anticipated PS4 exclusive

Did you absolutely love the multiplayer mode in The Last of Us? Well, then odds are you'll enjoy what Naughty Dog will be doing in Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, as one of the studio's developers confirmed that much of the same team will be working on the highly anticipated game.

"Fact: much of The Last of Us [multiplayer] team have returned for [Uncharted 4 Multiplayer]," revealed lead game designer Robert Cogburn. He didn't reveal the entire, team but did specifically mention Robert Ryan and Quintin Cobb

Admittedly, I played the Uncharted series and The Last of Us mostly for the single player experience, but there's no denying there's a large crowd out there that actually enjoys the multiplayer aspect. We've yet to actually see any multiplayer gameplay footage yet, but last year Naughty Dog showed off 15 minutes of glorious single player gameplay. If multiplayer is anywhere near that type of quality — and history suggests it will be based on Naughty Dog's continuous evolution with each game — than I think we're in for a real treat. Naughty Dog has a knack of taking what they've learned on a previous game's development and improving upon it with their next project.

Uncharted 4 will continue the story of Nathan Drake, but will feature a few surprises such as the introduction of Drake's brother. The graphics have also seen a massive upgrade over its PlayStation 3 predecessor, with character animations also improved upon. In terms of gameplay, we got a good look at some new of the new mechanics in the 15 minute demo which you can watch here. It'll be interesting to see if some of these mechanics make their way over to the multiplayer portion of the game.

With E3 rapidly approaching and Uncharted 4: A Thief's End recently pushed back to spring 2016, I'm sure we'll see much more about the game in the coming weeks and months — hopefully some of that is multiplayer.
