The Last of Us’ single player DLC introduces a new character; coming December/January

In revealing the Abandoned Territories Map Pack, the first of three Season Pass DLC drops for The Last of Us, Naughty Dog also dropped some hints about the future downloadable content for the game. We already knew the studio had plans for two multiplayer content packs and one single player, story-driven add-on. Abandoned Territories will be the first multiplayer, but here's what we now know about the new single player content.

"This is an ambitious story with strong ties into the narrative of The Last of Us," Naughty Dog community strategist Eric Monacelli said. "We just wrapped up a long casting process for a new character, and we’re starting our performance capture shoot next week."

The only other thing Monacelli mentioned was that it's planned for release "around the December-January timeframe."

And that's all we get. So the big questions are who is this new character and will the story DLC take place during the original game or after? Will you still play as Joel or Ellie?
