The LEGO Movie is out in theaters, and everyone’s loving it

If you couldn't already tell based on the giant banner on our site, The LEGO Movie is out in theaters. Released last week, the film has received rave reviews from critics and fans alike. Look, I could tell you to head out and see it but you don't have take my word for it — just look at how others are responding to the movie.

On RottenTomatoes, The LEGO Movie is currently sitting at a 95% rating. "Boasting beautiful animation, a charming voice cast, laugh-a-minute gags, and a surprisingly thoughtful story, The Lego Movie is colorful fun for all ages," the overall consensus reads. Fans apparently agree, with 93% having "liked it." The average critic rating is 8.2/10, while fans give it a 4.5/5.

And it's not just RottenTomatoes either. The film's Metascore is 82/100, with an average user score of 9.2/10. IMDB readers — of which there have been over 10,000 respondents, have scored it 8.7/10.

Although GameZone doesn't have a review of the film, editor Lance Liebl — my brother — saw it with his kids this weekend and called it "amazing, heartwarming, and touching."

Basically, The LEGO Movie is a must-see. I guess I'll be joining you in the theaters.

The Lego Movie's official synopsis is: An ordinary guy named Emmet (Chris Pratt) is mistaken as being the Master Builder, the one who can save the universe. With the aid of an old mystic Vitruvius (Morgan Freeman), a tough young lady named Lucy (Elizabeth Banks), and Batman (Will Arnett), Emmet will fight to defeat the evil tyrant Lord Business (Will Ferrell) who is bent on destroying the universe by gluing it together.
